Yes, but I think Frank is talking about the radio, saying to use the external speaker socket rather than the headphone socket.

I think that you mean the external loudspeaker jack. It is the sound outpit that is decoded.

The speaker jack might work as well but I'm using the earphone jack.

Sorry. I thought you meant the mic input from the receiver.

You have to be a little careful as you can overload the input to the PC. I found that I hav to turn the radio volume low and then check that I was getting a result.
