NAVTEX online

Re: Alternative Finnish weather

You could buy (about £70) a NASA Navtex Aerial that plugs into your serial port, it comes with the decoder/viewer program so you can select which messages you want e.t.c Much like a normal navtex but with a big screen!

And hear's me thinking I had found a source of Navtex data online; rather you are looking for it :-(

There was one website a coupe of years ago that had the Niton navtex data online. It was run by somone who had the navtex into the serial port thingy.

The only thing I can find now is the ICS list of stations and Frank Singleton's page of Navtex info http://www.stronge.org.uk

I'll keep looking...

Ok, found the Niton broadcast

Run by Atlantis Sailing.

Alos, have you checked out the all new BBC coastal and sea area forecasts. They list Niton, Cullercoats and Portpatrick in the inshore forecasts along with an all new coastal forecast using the Met Office inshore data. (All linked from my weather site :-)

Good cruising

It's the same data as is put out on navtex, and includes Gulf of Finland.
