NAVTEX online?

Try longer....as long as you can find say 40 ft maybe of speaker wire or something stuck in the antenna socket...However do not short the socket as it probably supplies power to the active antenna. you probably need to connect to the centre conductor only

I have had a couple of friends say that they are also not receiving inshore forecasts since Easter (Portsmouth Area). I have started a new thread on Sctbutt - but as yet no responses. So if there is a problem, who on earth do we contact, cannot find anything relevant on the Web.....

I have picked up a couple of area warnings on 490 but so far no forcasts...will try again today...518 I am getting mailin and Portpatric in Edinburgh...Not much use as for western areas.

Hi, you can find an up to date database of NAVTEX transmitting stations and schedules at www.pcnavtex.com.
The page for Cullercoats is at http://88.208.210.246/AboutNAVTEX/NAVTEX...84/Default.aspx
You will also find contact details for Cullercoats there.
There have been some problems on the 490kHz frequency in the UK, though these seemed to be fixed now (at least on the south coast).

Now it will be probably of no use for status, the one who initiated this thread, but for others who encounter the same problem it may be useful.
You can get on internet every navtex warning or forecast of every navtex station in the world there : http://weather.gmdss.org/index.html
Click on Metarea 1, then on Cullercoats in the Navtex messagespart of the window.

Another useful resource in the crusade against electrical gremlins!!

Still havent sorted my NAVTEX, but have been a good boy this year so maybe Father Xmas.....
