Hi, due to downsizing I sold my lovey yacht and now have a small fishing boat for very close inshore fishing use. I have a Lowrance Mark-4 and just happen to have a Navionics Silver Card Raymarine. does anyone know if this is supposed to work on any plotter using Navionics? It a 2014 chart so is still useful for the type of work I will be doing. I know Silver are naff but its fit for purpose for what I want.

If I bought a C-map it would work on any plotter using c-map so I expected the same here. But it doesnt seem to

From Navionics website:

Not for sale as a separate product, Silver is specifically designed to be preloaded in select chart plotters to provide out-of-the-box usability with an enhanced basemap.

Suggests to me it is device specific.

If you plug it into your PC it should tell you whether it's upgradeable and at what cost.

Hi it is up-gradable and for full UK mapping about £70 that is great value considering not upgrading it would be about £180, or would be if I needed that level of mapping- silver would be fine, It is 2014 mapping so not out of date for local work by any means. I would rather use this for what I need and have the option to upgrade later. I suspect I will have no choice but to upgrade.

I will check with Navionics, if I can get hold of anyone.
