Navionics Navplanner or....nonplanner

Have just come to use the Navplanner I bought in 2006 and it tells me the security code is incorrect or wrong.

Phone call to Navionics and they ask if i have done the upgrade????

Why should I need to do an upgrade when the software and card are the same as the previous time i used it??????

I am afraid this is typical of what I am now convinced is a shabby product and company.
I bought an upgrade to the chart card a while back and it had tidal heights for my home port missing....when i complaned they told me i had to fill in a five page report on line. Spoke to the manager at LIBS and he said they we will inform you when we have the information corrected.......
Has anyone bought the UK chart recently, I would be interested to know if the tidal diamond for Lowestoft has any info now?

Sorry, I can't.

...because Raymarine RNS 6.1 isn't out yet (Vista support).
...My version of NonPlanner crashes within seconds of starting, and is totally unsusable.
...Navionics can't give a date, or an upgrade price, or any detail on the Platinum Plus charts, despite them being "available now", and advertised, the 28PP (one which most UK peeps will want) isn't cooked yet.

Just had a phone call from Navionics....that surprised me----its the first time they have responded to me.


Aparently the upgarde will allow me to start using the Planner again....

I should get my new product code in a day or two.....
How crap is that!!!!!!!

I then enquired if the tidal diamond issue at Lowestoft had been addressed.....


NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nearly two years after i pointed out the ommision it has not been corrected.....


DISGRACEFUL IS THE ONLY WORD THAT COMES TO MIND!

Downloaded the upgrade and guess what.....


Yep it still doesn't work.


as for the missing info in the tidal diamond.......the italians are asking me to advise the Lat & Long for Lowestoft!

If this is not resolved this week i shall be askinfor a refund for the navplanner.....
Its crap.....dont waste your money!

I have just been through the process. It was painful, but it can be made to install.

1.) Locate original CD and it's sleeve (version 3.x).
2.) Install 3.x and use the 3.x serial number from the sleeve
3.) Run the 4.01 update process, this time use the "update" serial number you were sent. It should be something like xxxx2008xxxx where the x's are all numbers (12 digits in total).

Been there done that on a machine that had nt had been loaded before...

will try again tomorrow at the office but i really dont hold out any real hope.
they sent me a 13 digit number......think that about says it all.
the planner has been rubbish from the start and the chart card has so much missing data as to be dangerous.....
