Navionics - HD v normal. Is there a difference?

We have a Nexus 7 tablet and are about to set off to the Caribbean. We specifically bought the Nexus to download Navionics charts but are unsure which one to download.

The Navionics site says you should download the normal ones for anything under 7" and the HD ones for tablets over 7". Well the Nexus 7 is 7".

Does anyone know if there is a major difference in functionality between the 2 types of charts when using them away from mobile networks?

There is no difference in the function.I have the IPhone version on my I Pad2 as they were cheaper.The HD version are slightly clearer on a large screen.I looked at both using a friends tablet and decided the phone version was acceptable.

I haven't tried recently but Play store said only the HD version was available for my Nexus 7 (original type not the new one)

If you do a search on this topic I recall posting a picture from both versions showing the differences in detail.

When I downloaded Navionics to my tablet(samsung tab2 10.1) I understood that the hd version was for tablets and the standard version for smart phones.
