Navionics Gold Electronic Charts

I have bought a second-hand Raymarine Raychart 435 with no charts. Can anyone tell me a cheap source for these as all outlets seem to charge the same - about £220 for the Gold XL3 which presumably are the best value for money. Also can I tell how up to date they are from the packaging or do I have to insert and play the cartridge before I know what I've bought? New to electronic navigation so thanks in advance for your help.

I use the Gold XL3 & £220 seems the norm.If you go to the website www.navionics.com you can look up the chart you want & it will give you a list of the charts used & their dates of correction.

My apologies.The website does not give the detail I thought it did.

The website says the charts are updated at least once a year,so if you buy a chart the info should be no more than 12 months old at the worst.You can trade in an old chart to have it updated.

I bought mine from www.defender.com. £120. They don't list the uk charts on their website but a short email and they arranged the necesary.
