Handy to have in the cockpit though, especially if your main plotter is below, like mine. I also use an even smaller screened handheld Garmin with charts in the cockpit - much better battery life than phone charts, waterproof and easier to read in sunlight.

I’ve got it running on an iPhone 5 and an iPhone 6. The 5 is a bit small but the 6 is perfectly usable. I also run it on an iPad, where it is an effective tool.
2 warnings. It difficult to see in bright sunlight, but that applies to just about any app. Secondly, make sure you’re using a reasonably up to date version of iOS as some of the features of the app won’t run on the older versions of iOS.

I'd be using it on my iPhone 7, don't know if that would make much difference.

I used it for years on the tiny cracked screen of my iphone SE and it got me out of some tight spots. Just upgraded to an ipad running Navionics with an AIS overlay. Such luxury!

I use it on my iphone 6, along with the Digital Yacht Nomad AIS transponder, so I get wi-fi AIS data sent to the iphone showing the AIS targets in Navionics.
Excellent for use in the cockpit if you don't have a plotter.

The apps used to be different in that you could run the phone version on iPad but not other way As I recall

both very useful as a aid to navigation but not perfect in all circumstances but easier to keep in pocket than a chart

I use it on my iPad and iPhone. They sync with my Raymarine e7 plotter.

One subscription covers updates to iPad and iPhone, but plotter requires separately paid for updates. A word of warning if you use it on iPad and iPhone - my subscription expired recently so I renewed it on both devices naively expecting to only be charged once, but what actually happened is that I was charged twice and got a 2 year subscription... I guess on the 2nd device I should have done something other than renewed the subscription, but even if I find out what was I should have done I will have forgotten again in 2 years time...
