Hello all,
Would anyone know if the current version (2.9.4) works OK offline (the blurb says it does), whether the app can be moved to SD card (the blurb doesn't say), anyone installed it on a Motorola Defy, any other issues with it that anyone's aware of?
TIA,
Dave.

You only have to be online to download a selected "map" of part of europe. otherwise it works off line.

I have not tried moving it to sd card so cant comment.

Installed only on an HTC phone which was great until the touch screen got too wet!

Only used as a back up but found I was using it as a primary tool for localised tidal info for which it is really user freindly.

I have the UK/Holland version 2.8 installed. As TSB240 says, you need to be online to download a detailed map section (or sections) to your phone. After that the detailed parts you have downloaded are available to view offline.

On my Galaxy Note I just checked up on the option to transfer to SD card but it is grayed out so not possible.

As an example to the amount of space it takes - The application appears to be about 26.4Mb and the charts I have downloaded (English channel, Kent to Southern Brittany to Fastnet area and up as far as the Isle of Man) appear to only take up 320Kb.

How interesting - I have just upgraded it to version 2.9.4 on the Galaxy note.

It looks like it now takes up 41.7Mb (although it only appeared to download 18Mb) and the original chart data now takes up 324Kb.

The map data downloaded already was still available, there is still no option to move to SD card and surprisingly the app opened at the same part of the chart as I was looking at in the previous version.

One thing I noted on the comments was that drying heights are not shown :( Intriguing because in the Play Store screenshot of Haslar marina, drying heights are shown, yet on the application itself they are not.

I managed to transfer my Nokia N 8 based UK and Holland to my Samsung Tab 2.
Cloned it onto an sd card, didn, t work but got some forum help.

Check out possible warning navionics on android thread, page 8 or 9.
