Navionics app on iOS

I opened my navionics app on my iPad mini this morning thinking to look where I might go tomorrow and found that the screen had shrunk to the size of a telephone screen even when expanded. Also needed to reload base maps etc and download detailed charts afresh to look at detail. Apparently the only way to start was to take up an offer of a free trial of navionics+.
Is it just me or have they ruined the app entirely?
I am in an area with very slow broadband so all this is frustrating!
 
Thanks. That may be right although surprising. I have been running the app on my iPad for the last four years but very recently added the app to my phone as a backup. Perhaps the two have been talking, but I only bought the subscription through my iPad so am disappointed if I have been downgraded to the phone app.
Incidentally, or not, my saved tracks seem only to be saved up to January 2018 now, so about 1500 no of tracks have disappeared. That may be coincidental. I guess I shall have to ask navionics to reinstate me and delete the phone app.
 
Ah, might not be that then. Is the iPhone app a new purchase, if so and you have "Automatically install on other devices" turned on in your iCloud account, that would explain why it landed on the iPad but not why the older App has gone.

The Navionics account has to be the same on both devices. I wonder if you now have two apps on the iPad? Or, has the "old" iPad app been deleted and could be restored from the App Store / iTunes?
 
Good thought. There are indeed two apps on the iPad and so the original remains. I shall delete the extra one and adjust the iCloud settings and that should do the trick. Many thanks.
