Normal touch screen also doesnt work with wet fingers, or with standard gloves.

Is there any way of testing whether the battery is in good condition?

None that i know of. You could run it through a few "full charge" to "empty" cycles, and perhaps time them?
Seems to me batteries like this rather than lying unused.
Perhaps someone else knows about these things?
I have a reconditioned samsung. I left it unused for a while and after that the battery would fall to about 5% and the unit just suddenly go dead. Ive now run it through quite a few full to empty cycles and it is behaving normally again.
