That's actually quite normal, but only usually at the half moon. It's thought they're attracted by the neep tides.

Also, because of the low humidity, there has been increased evaporation from whisky barrels, so the stuff in the shops is now only 20-40%, but the tight-pursed Scots are still charging full prices.
