It seems that with the recent gentle weather the normally windswept Scottish highlands have recoiled two miles to the west. Navigators are advised to proceed with caution until the next gale moves it back to its normal position.
 
The dry weather is also driving the haggis away from their usual upland habitats down towards the coast.

Marine Scotland has put out an advisory that haggis can turn aggressive after drinking seawater and there have been reports of nasty attacks on unsuspecting yachtsman.
 
Also, because of the low humidity, there has been increased evaporation from whisky barrels, so the stuff in the shops is now only 20-40%, but the tight-pursed Scots are still charging full prices.
