navicom rt650 vhf

it should be possible to connect this vhf to pc to view ais information;
this should be very easy to connect as told in the manual, but it does not work; connecting a gps (in our case a garmin) is no problem but getting the ais information to a navigation program on a computer does not work

anyone experience with this item?

You are the second forumite asking this.

We have sucessfully connected to a Garmin chartplotter. The answer is probably in the data transfer rate - the actual wiring couldn't be simpler

Connect to a PC is as simple as stated in the user manual. Do not forget to setup the serial port at 38.4k baud rate.
