I have been given a NAVICO RT6500S which I would like to use as a stand by vhf
on my boat. Only problem is, I have no owners handbook.
Can anybody please tell me how the Dual watch ect works
Any help would be much appreciated.
Tim.

From memory, and I could be slightly wrong, you have to go to a channel you want to use, press a combination of two buttons, one of which is "Dual". This will then stay on the channel you want to listen to, but click over to channel 16 every second or so to listen to that channel. If there is a call on 16 it will stay there until the transmission is complete, wait a few seconds and then revert to the other channel. It will then scan 16 every second or so until another transmission is heard.

I had one on my previous boat, but cannot completely recall the procedure now.

I think I have a handbook for this model, but I need to check. PM me and I can send you a photocopy if I do have that model.
The dual watch function is very easy - select the channel you want to watch and press the Dual watch button. The radio will constantly flip between the channel you selected and 16.

Hope this helps

Just a warning - whatever the makers blurb says, this model is not in the slightest bit water-proof. Mine was never exposed to rain, spray etc but suffered extreme internal corrosion just from the salt air. Led to a long and acrimonious debate with the manufacturer who proved remarkably uncooperative.
