Nav station dilemma

Looking for some design and installation ideas, on the current nav station I would like to add a GPS 152H and a chartplotter something like a standard horizon 300i plotter. On the pics is the current set up I would like the add-ons on the panel behind the heads however I do not want to put screws through this panel. Is there a solution without making a mess of the veneers.

Apologies for the appalling pic but I recently bought a pack of two of these suction hooks from IKEA and a single one is currently easily holding about 2 to 3kgs on a smooth surface. I'm quite sure someone of a practical bent could modify and disguise them to secure a chart plotter to a varnished surface.

Sky hooks does seem appealing is there any part of the sky that they become more effective, I remember I once sent the apprentice to the store for a bubble for the spirit level he came back with a sense of humour failure.
