Anyone of you fine members got a Nauticat 33? I am looking at one to buy and notice that the shaft goes in through the hull with no external cutlass bearing or whatever it is called. There is the 'P' bracket with bearing but should there be something on the outside where the shaft goes into the hull?

On the inside there is a stuffing box etc as expected but nothing on the outside.....

Not to worry, a propshaft and engine combination can be supported in various ways and one failing can be to have too many fixed supports! Just as an example, with a P bracket like that and a flexible stuffing box, because of the movement of the engine on its mountings it is recommended that a flexible coupling should not be used... To get more helpful comments, you'll need to give details of the whole drive train configuration.

Rob.
