looking for somewhere unusual for a boat club spring social meet. Done the usual suspects like the submarine museum already. Has to have a boaty or water 'theme' for 30 to 60 inmates, followed by lunch somewhere nearby. Geography...south coast fine, midlands fine, scotland way too far, etc

any ideas???

How's about Henley's River & Rowing Museum, followed by a lunch or whatever at (if you wanna go posh) Leander Club (Jacket and tie) or if you are all in a Coach lunch or dinner at The Plough at Long Wittenham (knees up welcomed)

OK! Here's one still close to you. Hire the Caversham Princess and bring everyone up to see me at my Computer. My Study can accomodate about 6 people at a time. You can bill the event as "See an old sea dog" Ladies wil be allowed to fondle me (for a small fee) and Men can have turns at washing/polishing my boats. The one doing the best job will win a bottle of Balvenie.

As you've not had the opportunity to meet the members of this club, I should warn you that the ladies (I'm being gracious in the use of this term) would probably bite rather than fondle, and as for the gentlemen (similar provisions apply) then your boats would probably be totally non functional at end of day as they all attempted to make 'improvements' for you.

I'll certainly suggest it as an option though! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

- oop, now I'll get done for bringing the club into disrepute. I was joshing bout the true ladies and gentlemen of the club, who are most refined and of upstanding character - no, really!
