Buy a cheapish scientific calculator that can handle "Polar Co-ordinates".

You can then use your "Marks" to sort out bearing and distance using Polar>Rectangular conversions and the converse.

Google throws up lots of sights explaining this.

If you get what "D long = dep / cos mean lat" means, your laughng.

Might look a bit "Iffy" to start with but it is worth persevering.

why not just put a way point on both cordinates and get the GPS to tell you the distance, if you change the setings to feet or meters you have you answer./forums/images/icons/smile.gif
