Now I am not a superstitious fellow and with a background in maths / phyisics and engineering I certainly don't believe in a load of mumbo jumbo outmoded belief systems, but.... Just in case I'm completely wrong I don't want to pi55 off neptune.
I'm taking formal ownership of my spanking new Hanse 371 tomorrow -and going for a shakedown sail tomorrow. The big delivery trip back is at the end of the month. However the boat has no name, and whats more WE STILL CAN'T THINK OF ONE AAAARRGGHH. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Apart from the obvious radio difficulties /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif is it considered bad luck to sail a boat with no name?
We have a short list (actually a bloody long list) of names - we've been thinking of various 'categories' of name, and one category is places we've visited which have a particularly special meaning to us. As most of our globe hopping has been scuba diving, then many of these names are diving related - some being named after dive sites. (don't worry there is a question in the near future). Some of these dive sites are actually ship wrecks. What is the luck factor of naming a boat after a wreck? especially one on which people lost their lives?
