Not sure if this is the right thread, but I am selling a friend's Nautical book collection and wondered if anyone knows of a bookseller who might be interested in excess of 500 books on various themes from Windjammers to Gaff rig, sailing ships, warships, and loads more.I photographed 20 shelves bulging with maritime ephemera.

The lot must go together, otherwise I would be on the for sale section, one at a time until 2012.

The books are in the Borders.

I am not looking to sell them here. As explained in my OP, I am looking for an honest bookseller who would be interested in taking the lot.
I already have several who want to cherry pick...

MacLarens

I have been buying good second-hand nautical books from MacLarens, Helensburgh, for years. I've never sold any to him (couldn't bear to part with them :o) but he seems a trustworthy sort.

Parsifal.
Thanls for the comments. I have been in touch with him and he seems fine. Nice to hear a confirmatory opinion.
I can't imagine there'll be many more interested in travelling to the Borders ,but I thought it was worth a thread.

Glad to help.

No doubt some of what he might buy from you will end up on my shelves in due course (if I can smuggle them past the Old Guvnor! ;))

Seconded. he was my first thought. He is also, as I recall, coxswain of the local lifeboat - the bookshop sometimes closes very suddenly!
