Hi I've got the 15ltr version.
Does anyone know what the heater element thread size is please.
I'm planning to replace the working element with a 3rd party 12v 300w version (Nautic want £250+?).
And use the calorifier as an energy dump.
I can hear you asking why not take out the existing and look.
My Calorifier is installed awkwardly and to get it out will require major disassembly.
So does anyone know the element thread size please.
Thanks in anticipation.

Quick are sold by aquafax in the uk. Approach your local chandler who should be able to get a spare from them as they are trade only. We bought one not long ago and it wasn't 250 quid!

The size I can remember I'm afraid possibly 1 1/4 But the elements quite short, after a brief look around I went and got the genuine one.

Theres several versions power wise so check which one you need

Quick Stainless Steel Boiler Immersion Element (220V / 800W)

Sorry JWFRARY the 220v versions are around £65 but the official Nautic 12V ones are quote...

""

- FVSLRSB03012A00 OSP KIT ELEC ELEMENT BOILER 300W 12V RRP Price is £308.45 plus VAT

""

I couldn't believe it either and exchanged several emails questioning the price.... I did get a discounted offer nearer to £250.

I hadn't clocked you were 12v, I assume your using it with excess solar power!?

It's expensive as it's pretty niche!

Yes that's right ... I rarely use the 220v 500w heater element in the calorifier.
And I often have surplus solar power so I'm keen to get a 12v element to dump (spill over) the available energy.
12v 300w elements are available but so far I've only been able to source the 'official' Nautic ones.
All the 3rd party ones are 1" bsp.
So the hunt is on for a 1¼" bsp 12v 200-300watts heating element.
ANYONE reading this who knows of a supplier PLEASE chip in.

Yes that is a possibility, nice idea....

I think I've tried every combination of key words in my searches...

There are a few possibilities on aliexpress in China

(That isn't realty a problem as most things seem to be sourced from China anyway.)

But I'll bide my time and keep looking and asking until I'm convinced I have the best solution.

I hear quite a lot of people just using an inverter to dump the power into something useful like heating water or whatever else. Then it still works the same when you go back to the marina! Depends on your style of cruising I guess
