We have been from Bristol to Swansea twice with few problems, however I keep reading about getting through the Nash Passage (inshore route) before the tide turns.
Am I right in assuming that I need to be on an ebbing tide to avoid rough water during this part of the trip?
Previously I have been very fortunate with the weather and have travelled on an almost flat sea. Apart from Swansea Bay, where I understand the tide runs in a clockwise direction for 10 hours?
Porthcawl, past Port Talbot and up to the entrance of the marina was a little lumpy!
We can travel at around 25 kts and leaving Bristol on the 1st lock out Saturday should we take the insore route between the sand banks or keep ofshore and come right up the middle of Swansea Bay?
Any advice more than appreciated as I guess in the past we have been quite lucky with the sea state and the weather.
Cheers
