NASA\'s AIS engine

A reader laments that NASA’s AIS engine doesn’t come with software for a pc. I can report that it does come with a free copy of SeaClear
This gives a world map with a scale 1:20,000,000. This isn’t very high resolution but I gather more detailed charts can be added. I haven’t tried it on board but, at my home, I can see several ships on the Thames around Tilbury.
Not bad with the antenna stuffed in the attic and Tilbury is over 40 miles away.

Might I suggest that you join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gps-navigator/ and post your question there. They have experts on GPS electronics and nav systems.
