Despite being able to get hold of a manual, a sea trial of new boat has the sounder display showing E on left hand side, despite providing the correct data. Does anyone know what it means?

Thanks in advance....

is the number for NASA. Nice folk to deal with.
I think your transducer may not be reading in properly.

This is normal on the original NASA Target sounder - I suspect E standing for Echo. Is your manual for the version 2, which behaves differently?

Ah.... that makes sense because it's a joint Echo/Log manual, so presumably you "could" get one head reading both things.... It's the manual off the nasa site

Thanks a lot... I was assuming E for Error.....

it means its not receiving an echo, nasa sold the target right to someone else so tech support is limited on them now.
!st place to start is move the sounder to a diffrent hull location with some blue tak or chewing gum if this works then make it permanat if ot then contact allgadgets.co.uk for a new transducer.

It is operating correctly. From the Target Manual: "When the unit is functioning in its normal echo sounder mode, the letter E is displayed at the left of the display followed by the depth in metres."

Copy of the manual here

The link to the maual does not seem to work. Any suggestions how to obtain a copy, I have just bought one of these and would like to get the best out of it.
