Nasa Target Depth Sounder

Can anyone help.... my depth sounder keeps going haywire! On checking the wiring, I noticed an orange wire dangling on its own not connected to anything????? Anyone know where it should go or where I can get instructions for it. I believe its the earlier Target model (not the Target 2). Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The orange wire is power for the backlighting. It need not be connected.
