Despite following the programming instructions to 'program out' unwanted stations and message catagories, they keep on coming. I go through the list of stations (French, Dutch, German etc...) and try to limit the receiver to Niton weather and nav warnings, but the infernal machine keeps receiving messages from these stations. What am I doing wrong?

I have been using a Nasa Navtex daily for the 3 months and have noy experienced the problem you describe. Other than a faulty receiver, all that I can suggest is that the 'word' at the start of the abcdefghij etc must be changed from 'all' to 'some'

thanks but... let me ask this a different way...
In order to get only the station(s) and catatories you want... what, exactly do you do?

I just had to reprogramme ours having returned from a long trip. You should select "some" then only the letters in capitals are selected, as long as they are in lower case, you shouldn't receive them. Good luck. If you are doing everything right, then all you can do is take the unit back.

You're lucky!
I've got a Furuno NX300 and I get very erractic reception, Niton is local station.
It's been back to Furuno for repair and returned as 'fixed'
I know the programming's OK, but have you experienced any known problems with Niton transmissions?
They want me to return it again but this is becoming tedious.

Before I do something I might regret, can you help by confirming Niton transmissions are OK or suggest anyone else who can help?

Cheers
