I've just fitted a NASA EX-1 exhaust temperature monitor to my Yanmar 2YM15. I ran the engine under load for about 20 mins, and the temperature reached around 25 degrees. I was expecting it to be higher, does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Are you in UK? Water pretty cool at the moment perhaps if so. My 3GM30 gets low to upper 30’s in summer. Think it may have hit 40 degrees once. 20 mins under load may not be enough to get engine up to running temp depending on what you mean by “under load”?

Thats similar to mine - it varies with the sea temperature and load. Its a monitoring device so set an alarm just above the highest temperature you see under load (and summer water temperature).
