Hi all, not being lazy but the other night I found a series of posts on the NASA HF3 receivers. One of the replies gave a link to a PC program called JVComms.
I have downloaded the program and want to evaluate it on my PC since I dont yet have a HF SSB receiver. But what I need to evaluate it is some web broadcasts from a weather station site, preferably the UK or europe area coverage.
Does anyone know a web site which broadcasts such information that I can download and that program can use. Anyway, when I am using my Laptop shore side and away from the boat I will still want weather forecast to decide whether its worth its worth sailing that day.
Have been searching all morning but cant find the post again. When I found the post it was well after midnight and I was not paying too much attention.

JV comms is written to take the input to your soundcard and process it. I wouldnt think that you can do what you are asking.

I've used it here with an ssb transceiver and received synoptic charts OK. I believe you can also get text forecasts since the program will decode teletext, but I havent tried that and therefore cant confirm it.

I'm as gadget minded as anyone, but I couldnt see any real point in this approach unless going offshore.

Thanks for the information. The only reason for asking about receiving a suitable download was just to try and evaluate the program while I waitexd to buy an SSB radio.
Thanks Birdseye for that site.
Much obliged to everyone
