ok, I stand corrected, I gave bad advise and I appologise for that, that said I am still really happy with the X51, watching the bottom on a fish finder is much more pleasing to me than just a readout.

I will be more carefull in future not to pass on second hand comments and just stick to what I know, I know I am extreemly happy with the wind speed and direction, even if the wind keeps the wrong speed and is always the wrong direction up here at the moment ;-)

No experience with NASA stuff, but I would 110% agree on a fishfinder. Being able to see the "rate of change" has got me out of a few tight spots (esp when they were sluicing the Eider River!). If you can go the extra Euro/pound/Dollar then well worth it.
Oh they also find fish if you like that sort of thing!
