Hi Folks,

Can anyone tell me if the NASA Clipper (wind, log and depth) output NMEA data through their repeater sockets and if so which pin numbers correspond?

I'm thinking to link up my NASA instuments to my Raymarine C120 via a seatalk/NMEA converter box.

Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Cheers,

Crispin.

The later Clipper wind instruments certainly output NMEA. I rang Nasa and they told me which output was which but I no longer have the piece of paper on which I noted it! Dont know about repeaters though. Suggest you ring them

If you mean "do they output nmea out of the repeater socket on the main instrument" then the answer is definately yes for the later wind instruments. I phoned nasa and they were very helpful, and then I noticed the little paper sticker on one side of the instrument that told me it did!

However if you are hoping to link the wind instrument to a raymarine st1000 or 2000 then you need to think again because the nmea sentence from the nasa is not what the raymarine wants to see, so you end up with having to buy an nmea to seatalk adapter, which I didn't 'cos of the cost.

regards
chris
