Its not working!
Unit seems to power up (backlight lit), but totally blank screen.
All cabling seems fine. Transducer looks ok/undamaged.
I presume if it was a transducer problem, the display would show some sort of error?
Anything else I can check before I replace the unit itself?
Cheers

Call NASA - I had a problem with the clipper depth last week - they spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to sort it then said send it in and they'll check FOC what's wrong and quote for a repair - vv impressed!

I know if the transducer is not working it comes up with the message 'out'

My Clipper duet shows the out nearly all the time, even though I have tried setting the gain values every way, it will flash a depth reading regularly but in deeper water this is not always correct always spot on in anything under15m odds.
The next I am going to try is a new transducer which I have had for a while, I think I will epoxy it to the inside of hull.

My vote is for calling them too. Nasa kit may have problems, but their customer service is superb. You get to talk to someone who knows how it works.

I have forgotten how to do it but there is a 'hard reset' that you can do (NASA will advise)
I had your prob and the hard reset did the trick.
(its hold certain button(s) down and switch the power on)

Power "OFF".
Holding down "ILLUM" button, switch power ON.
Once the power up display of the keel offset appears, release the "ILLUM" button.
This puts you in Engineering Mode. Once you have made any configuration changes, press "ILLUM" to return to echo sounding mode.
I have taken that from the Operation Manual. If you want a copy of it just PM me.

Phoned NASA on Friday and, as predicted, they were very helpful and offer to check and quote for a repair ASAP.
However I am delighted to say that Heigaro's fix worked a treat, so no need to get the spanner out!
