I accept the position but I'd like to know more about the terms of employment.
I think any sort of clothing will be an improvement, clean and threadbare is my normal attire, so you won't need to feel style-challenged in your role as Captain.
I believe on-water trials would be an essential, and I realise you'll need a full systems check.
If I'm to do much towpath work you might also get the vet in to check my teeth and make sure I'm not some cow hocked, spavined old gelding looking for a rest home. I'm sure you need an "entire" fit for duty when it's time for hauling alongside.

45ft is a good length. Two of us lived aboard a 45ft narrow boat for a while, until kids came along.
Also to get from the Cam/Ouse you need to use the Middle Level Navigations from Denver Sluice to the Nene at Peterborough. There is a very sharp bend at Whitllesey and 45 ft is about the maximum length that will go round, unless it's changed since I was there. We got our 45ft boat round but it was tight.
We spent a couple of weeks exploring the Cam, Ouse and tributaries. Places like Burwell Lode were a bit shallow, as were some of the middle levels. But main rivers, Nene, Ouse & Cam are fine.
No didn't do that. Looks fun, wonder why we missed it.
Seem to remember we got ot a point where it said no boats beyond here or something. Not sure where that was, knowledge of Cambridge not very good. Know Oxford better /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I've punted there - didnt know you could take a powered boat along there - never seen one, and with the crowds of tourists all over the river in punts, wouldn't want to take one there.
