Narrow Bow Roller

Why do you want an angle grinder on a pole?- If anything that sounds b..dy risky
Come to that i do not think I have ever seen one, but learn something every day:encouragement:

I wouldn't really use an angle grinder on a pole but the glassed over nuts are hard to remove at that distance.
Rogershaws idea about grinding heads off would work although all countersunk. The remains of the bolt could probably be knocked through taking with it the glassed over nuts. Just to complicate things a bit further there is also a welded strap on the running down the bow, nuts all glassed over of course! Probably just easier leaving the plate in place, or squashing a shackle :)
And thanks Daydreamer just trying to visualize your idea.

Point I am making is that the existing part stays in place
The new bit is basically 2 pieces formed as angles bolted down to the deck each side of the existing cheeks with a flat plate between them just above the cut down cheeks. The angles do extend above the flat plate & extend out to the front with the roller in front as at present.
You do not take anything out.( apart from cut down the cheeks ) You put something (on over the remaining cheeks)

With you now, sounds like a couple of bits of angle would suffice.
