Has Anyone out there taken or attempted to take a flybridge boat through the Narbonne/Canal Du Midi ?I Have a Sealine F37 That I would like to sail to the Med using this route if possible,in the owners manual it says that air draught is reduced to 3.31 mtrs if the radar wing is removed. Is This enough?I seem to be struggling to find a definitive measurement for the canal Sealine's measurement is the boat at its lightest,i am not sure if the measurement is taken in nsalt or fresh water.

My "getting the boat to the Med" book, says

Canal Lateral and Canal du midi to Sete, max loa 30m (thats OK then!), max breadth 5m, and max draught 1.60m, max air height 3.25m. Sounds pretty tight.

Over the last couple of weeks there has been the MBY magazine series getting to the med, which also covered the various routes to the Med.

There have been some previous articles in MBY about people who have done taken their boats inland, but couldnt find it in my few back copies.

Best of luck, sounds a pretty exciting way to do it, I have always wanted to do the length of the Canal du Midi in a boat

I can't find the information, but some years ago I looked at this and obtained from the French canal organisation the dimensions and profiles of all the bridges on this route, together with minimum air clearances. My boat would just do it, but with only the odd inch to spare and it wasn't a flybridge. I doubt that your boat would clear.

If I find the info on the organisation, I shall post it. Try a Google search.

I decided it was cheaper and faster to truck it down. In any case, I couldn't keep down to the speed limit on one engine only.

Yes, It's looking a little tight, shame as it would seem to be a great way to get there. Thanks for the leads to various sites, that may have info.I will continue to look and hope.

I think you would struggle to get through I had a boat the year before last with 2.75 air draft and decided I couldnt get through due to the archs
You would be able to do the same route I did last year through the central canal system via the Seine and the Rhone
The seine is a great river very scenic and loads of good culture on the way
Les andelys,Vernon monets house, and of course the Bastille marina central Paris
