Yes I've tried them, disappointed to find no better than any other

I am not convinced that the finish lasts any / significantly longer than non "nano" however they are VERY easy to apply - A Glaze is wipe on wipe off and you are pretty much done.

Showing pics of the finished boat is not really representative as any polished boat will look nice, and most of the work is in getting the gel polished not in the finishing / waxing.

For cars there are some glass coatings that car forums do say last an amazing length of time, but they are expensive, application is not that simple ( you can mess it up and people have) and how well it works on GRP I dont know.

I'm not convinced by A glaze. I've seen it applied really well and wasn't convinced the protective properties lasted.

If you want my humble opinion C1 Crystal lacquer from G techniq is the one to use. A year after application water still beaded up and you could wipe black streaks off with your finger.

Rather than A glaze which as I understand it is supposed to soak into the outer surface (is such a feat possible?) this stuff sets solid. You apply using a small pad and that pad is rock hard come the morning. It sets to a very thin hard shell.

I'm not convinced it prevents UV deterioration, it may slow it down. Bit but in terms of stuff sticking to you boat it offers good protection.

Henry you could not be more wrong.

Not going to start an argument, but if you are ever in Mallorca you are most welcome to come and see my 5 year old Manhattan that has been A Glazed from new.

This season alone 5 different skippers (inc 3 professionals) have made the mistake of thinking it was new.

By the way it does not sink into the surface as you questioned and I must add that I have no experience of C1 Crystal from G Techniq.

Any product that can withstand the blistering temp. and uv levels found in Mallorca deserves respect.

Doug

Are you suggesting we don't experience blistering temperatures in Gosport sur mer? That pal is fighting talk :)

We get loads of pollution and contaminates to make up for it.

The issue I have with A glaze is it doesn't really cure as such. Take 2 make up remover pads, a glaze on 1, C1 on the other and leave them overnight. That's the protective shell you're getting on your boat.

The problem you have is that the bloke who drops 4 figures having any treatment applied is also going to look after the finish. In my case I have the boat washed every month regardless of whether it needs it. So the boats are generally going to look in good nick. My old P42 still looks amazing, whether because of A glaze or the fanatical cleaning of its owner (I saw him hoovering the bathing platform once;) ), who knows?

Henry :)
