Nanni Spares

Sad to say , my base engine is a z400 which seems to be pretty well kippered, but I have been offered a smoke damaged but otherwise new z482 base engine for a very good price. Can anyone confirm (or deny ) if the marinising elements of the Nanni 2.10 will fit the newer base motor without too much cunning. i.e. will the bell housing and gearbox and maybe even the exhaust manifold fit? To all intent and purpose everything else is window dressing.

Don't wish to offend, but presumably you are sure that your engine is z400 based?
The Nanni 2.10 as currently listed certainly appears to be the larger z482, perhaps your engine is of a certain age, but it seems odd to list different engines by the same model number.
Maybe Peachment might help if you catch them on a good day!

No offence taken. Yes, mine is a Z400. It's engraved on the block where it would otherwise have Z482. The z400 is the same size and power as the Z482, but was the earlier model.

Peachment don't designate their motors using the manufacturer's engine model number, but can get it from their own model number. The difference is a saving of over £2000 if my existing gearbox etc can be fitted to the smoke damaged Z482.

Just looked at a Beta spares list, that I have for the Kubota based "mini series, 10 -25 hp. Interestingly, the two cylinder, B10, BZ482, B16, and the 3 cylinder BD722 and BD902 all use the same flywheel housing, Beta pt. no. 208-59190, which suggests that Kubota used a standard flange design for the rear of their crank-case.
Caution, my list is pre 2008, so can't tell if this still applies.
Of course, with smaller bore and stroke than the present mini series, the Z400 might be different, and the same question arises about fitting of the heat ex./manifold.
Incidentally, there's a couple of Z400 runners on Ebay. One to view at Rye!
Best of luck.
