Has anybody here got a Nanni diesel, hopefully the 5.280HE, or the similar 4.220HE. Very basic question at moment, where is the thermostat?, but would like to know what temperature you run at, oil pressure when warmed up and cold, no doubt other issues.

I've got hold of a workshop manual, but it is for the Kubota block with a few Nanni pages at front and back which doesn't offer too much help. (You might think it should be obvious but an experienced friend and myself couldn't locate it, and there are differing views of the "experts" in the marina. I have been told by a Nanni agent that the 65 -70 degrees I'm getting is OK, but the Kubota part of the manual says the thermostat should start opening at 68 degrees, and be fully open at 85. My friends narrow boat Beta/Kubota 43hp runs at about 85 so I believe this should be correct)

Any offers of where to find such information gratefully accepted!

Thanks for the comments, Marine Maintainence at Tollesbury have told me where the thermostat is. Suprised at the comment re 65-70 being ok - although this ties in with what Marine Maintainence and Peachments, the suppliers say - as their own manual says fully open at 85, surely that means the thermostat's role is to get the engine to that temperature.

About time I went on a diesel maintainence course I think!
