Nanni 4 390 TDI in a MF 805 : cleaning the air filter.

Just out of interest i have the same engine but don't have the good book as you quoted . Where did you get it from as i only have the Nanni base engine manual and there is no mention of the air filter.

I got the boat second hand and with it came Instruction Manual 4 380(not 390) TDI printed by Nanni Diesel in French and English. It's in section 6: "Periodic Maintenance Table according with the Silverwake Warranty".

For your information:

Actually M1KZ (marinized), but same base.

Nanni state this clearly in their sales material too.

For reference, Nanni service parts numbers can be found here

Go here if you want the workshop manual, a 14 mb pdf secured from the interweb some time ago:

Has yours got the large blue K & N type filter? If so, the Walker AirSep cleaning kits will clean them a beaut and oil them. CAT/Finnings sell them.

I know this thread was posted a while ago but I just came across it, I have the same engine in my Antares 760 and the air filter is just a sponge wrap held on with Velcro I just take it off and wash in warm soapy water then rinse let dry and then put it back on, Hope this is of some use to somebody.
