The 'recognized' anchorage that isn't Pilsey or East Head. The one near Park Copse, a bit East of Chalkdock Point and opposite Cobnor Point.

Is there any concensus on a convenient shortish name to call it?

It is just described as "West of Fairway buoy" on the website

A suitable name would be "Chalkdock" anchorage

I think everyone would know where I meant if I used Chalkdock but to me 'Chalkdock' means the spit with the post on quite a long way East of the prime spot. It's directly adjacent to Chalkdock Marsh so I think I might start calling it "Chalkdock Marsh" which includes Chalkdock but satisfies my OCD reluctance to call it after a feature that's on one edge of it.

Hitherto, I've called it "Park Copse" and nobody outside of my immediate family recognizes it from that. I've heard people refer to it as Itchenor but that's seriously misleading AFAIC. :)

Chalkdock, it is adjacent to Chalkdock Point ( as named on the land).

Just checked the OS map and you're spot on. Turns out Chalkdock Marsh is on Chalkdock Point as is Park Copse. So by any measure Chalkdock anchorage is the correct logical name and Chalkdock point isn't where I thought it was...

So now we've resolved that to my satisfaction, we need the new name for the Green post half a mile to the East of Chalkdock point. The current name of 'Chalkdock' won't do at all.

"East Chalkdock"?
"Transit end"?
"SW Stakes"?
"OCD Green"?

:D
