?? Name of wee ship sailed out of Oban ?

Are you thinking of "Mischief", a replica pilot cutter, seen here on the right of the anchorage.

Ah, that explains where I saw Mischief around 2009, Oban makes sense.

Pretty certain it was Mischief next to us in the yard at Vigo around April 2013. I helped out with a couple of minor jobs and had a look around inside. Loved the "pineapple" deck light. No so keen on having to pump out the sink as it was fitted below the waterline. I remembered seeing a similar boat previously but the only crew on board didn't know if she'd been to Scotland.

I'd forgotten all about her until I saw this thread.

Sign of a good seaworthy hull, that :). In the water rather than on it.

We had a similar arrangement on Kindred Spirit.

Having read the Tilman books, I'm not sure whether the original had anything as luxurious as a galley sink :)

Yes, solid boat. However, I seem to remember trying to flush water tanks via the sink. I don't think access to inspection hatch was easy on one tank (port side?) and problem with a valve prevented connection to other tank. We ended up using the water pump to fill the sink and then hand pumped the sink to empty it overboard. I think that's why I remember the sink sitting below the waterline. :D

Much easier once the second tank opened and valve fixed. Fill both tanks, jam hose into inspection hatch on one tank and turn water on for a minute to prime. Just a matter of disconnecting the hose at the tap and having a beer while it syphoned out both tanks. Repeated until tanks clear or beer ran out.
