Naked has a new king! Come on folks, top this please?

ASW 2002.... We ended up anchored next to the "Girls for Sail" Swan 36 one evening... And after a hour or two of the lovely ladeez ignoring the best efforts of our crew to attract their attention... The skipper, who shall remain unnamed at this time, and two others decided that the best way to get some action was to bathe nude on the stern platform.

I grimace just thinking of it.
 
Regarding the above comments concerning kill chords and lifejackets, I'd consider a lifejacket more important. Being able to swim does little good if you hit your head on the way into the water. The most likely time to fall in the water is while docking, at which time it would likely be necessary to disconect a kill chord in order to reach the dock lines. It might be unnecessary for the helmsman to reach for the dock lines with a second person on the boat, but then the second person would be available to put the engine into neutral if the helmsman fell into the water, so the kill chord would offer an advantage only if both people on the boat fell into the water at the same time.

This issue has been beat to death in other threads. I'll apologize in advance if I have ignited the debate again in this thread.

thanks for the apology, it was out of place in this thread. And I don't give a stuff what you think, I'll wear, and not wear, my lifejacket when I choose. Don't be concerned about me when I don't because it's none of your business! (hitting my head whilst falling out of a RIB is not high up my risk assessment list BTW)

At anchor off the Old Quay in Olbia about a week ago (still closed btw but due to open on '1st August' :) its just a car park thats been rebuilt) a French boat anchored nearby. One of the crew rigged up a towel across the transom so that she could shower on the step in privacy, giving the rest of the anchorage a fine floorshow... she hadnt been sunbathing nude (sorry no pics, SWMBO was throwing dark looks)

Yeah, feelings run very strong regarding the wearing of life jackets, kill chords, and pants. Just to be clear, I believe the choice of what to wear (life jackets, kill chords, pants, etc...) should be left to the individual, regardless of whether it is for a cruise around an anchorage in an RIB or a hike from Land's End to John o' Groats.
 
My mate was out in his kayak quietly paddling through the moorings at Felixstowe Ferry when he came across three naked young ladies sunbathing on board a yacht and they had no idea he was there!
 
As Sunday was such a fantastic day I did think about diving off the boat naked, but thought better of it. :o
