JFM - Off Topic... but how the heck did those guests not melt in shirts and dark pants? Or was it a lot cooler than it looked?! Jesus when it hits 22 degrees in Ireland, I have to ring ahead to warn clients i'm arriving in shorts

Almost 10 more in daytime - thanks God for some breeze and crystal clear sea water.

Yep it was cooler than it looked - was March 15th. I've taken guests out at MIPIM a few times and despite me telling them not to loads turn up in dark suits and wheelies, straight from airport. Aaah, March 15th makes a lot more sense re. attire.... I wrongly assumed it was very recently (ie. last week).
I appreciate certain attire for certain work, but good luck getting me wearing dark pants / full shirt if I were out on a boat on the Med
(But maybe that's why i'm not there)

Long story, but it's actually the DP that after the shakedown cruise revealed the need for a bit of extra care, and I decided to deal with that while she's still up in N Adriatic, where the builder himself and his former staff know her down to the finest detail.
So, we jumped on the first plane, because both myself and S were beginning to suffer proper sea withdrawal symptoms...
And I'm pleased to confirm that the old lady (*) is fine - actually getting further improved by her new owners.
In fact, we enjoyed a perfect day out with her yesterday, and the plan for today is more of the same! :encouragement:
(*) I don't think I'll call her old tub anymore...

Rather you than me. I saw on our weather forecast today that the temp will be 44degC in Sardinia today. I hope the breezes around CF will take the edge of that

Wondered in by mistake, but hey ho! Before you take fuel in Calvi have a look at the fuel quay for any resent ish work, they used to leak so sea water was getting in. Have fun! We lived in Calvi for just over 10 years, great place.

Well, we are indeed having 35C or so during the day (44C does happen, possibly also today, but that's only in the central and flattest part of Sardinia).
Otoh, we also enjoyed a whole day at anchor in a sea state which was as close as it can get to surface tension, with zero jellyfishes around, and the anchor clearly visible from the deck in almost 10m of water.
You can guess what the visibility while snorkeling was like...
...Suffice to say that we swam around for 65 mins or so, non stop. Not our record, but almost.
No idea about how nice your day was (I wish you VERY nice, of course!), but I have a funny feeling that you will struggle to convince me to swap it...

Today it was flat enough to water ski all the way back from Bonifacio to Porto Potsa on mainland Sardinia, if you were strong enough I hasten to add�� Been like this for the last three days. Never seen it so calm or so hot, high 30's at anchor off Spargi without a breath of wind.

I also agree about it being thought provoking, especially the one with the 5L plastic bottle. We are here but a short time and should respect the oceans and the land, something we are failing to do in the last 50 years or so. I run a microscopically tiny business but make the effort to be sustainable, even it costs me a fortune. And it has.
