Hi, Can someone help me with identifying a 13ft speed boat please?

It is my new boat that I am looking to get parts for but struggling to find any info on it. I need to work out a new steering and accelerator setup, but have been wondering what engine sizes are recommended for this boat. Thanks hullabaloo for giving me a start on doing some research that will speed things up.

I was planning to get a new engine for it and if possible transfer it to a small fishing boat soon after I had my fun.

Teleflex steering and your engine with cone with throttles etc .

Teleflex steering system is looking like a good start. If the windscreen breaks, I have plenty of face shields on standby.

Could also be a Dateline?

Does look similar in some pics to a Dateline, but the raised moulding on the front top of the boat is distinctive of the Simms.

Check the transom for rot ,,
You can duty a metal strengthening part ...

Have the bow rider version myself

Because the transom area is covered in fibreglass on both sides, I am unable to determine the condition of the material that is sandwiched inside. I have noticed that someone has made a strong 3mm stainless steel plate that hangs over and covers the transom area though.

Sounds good then ... the old engine bolts holes you can have a poke around but the plate will beef it up ...

My dad had a few of these and did a lot of development work with Dougie Simms on the inboard jet version, made in Birstall West Yorks.
