Hello everyone,

Ive spent the last half a year restoring a Mysingen 1 series clinker built boat.
It's plate reads the following:

Mysingen 1
6201 Made in Finland,

here is an image:

Mysingen 1 series plate-min.jpg

And an image of the boat in its restored state:

Ive been trying to find out information about this type of boat,

What about its history?
How rare is it, and how many are there left?
And if it is rare, how much could it be worth, fully restored to its original state?
Ive bought it in and restored it in the Netherlands, what about the export, or import of these type of boats?

All i have been able to find so far are these two links, containing copy's of brochures from the 60's, and some general history and information.
They are not english websites, putting them through the translator helps and reveals a lot, but doesn't answer all my questions.

Links:

Does anyone have more information or answers to the questions above?

Thanks in advance,

Ralph

I'd note that, unlike cars, there isn't really any premium attached to a boat being a "classic". It will attract admiring looks and a lot of nice comments, but few people will pay more than the going rate for a boat of similar vintage but lesser status. At least part of the reason is that keeping a boat like that running can end up being time-consuming and a money pit!

For the second of those two links, despite its title, the actual website main page seems to be this:
Sten-Åke's Mysingen sajt. Om dom populär trämotorbåtarna från 60-talet
As far as I can see the site contains a wealth of information on the Mysingen line of motor boats, including many pictures.
Unfortunately, it is all in Swedish. Also, the latest update seems to be from 2013....

Looks gorgeous. Well done! Hope you manage to get plenty of use out of her on the water. I agree with AntarcticPilot about value. If you discover otherwise, please do let us all know!
