I've got a Casio which does tides, barometric pressure (with trend for the last 24 hours), electronic compass, plus zillions of time zones and alarms, stopwatch/countdown timer, etc etc etc. Waterproof to 100m, totally reliable, compass pretty accurate, and all for a touch over £100. Suunto make some pretty good ones, but more expensive and more saily-orientated.

Deffo Breitling. I'd go for Breitling Professional Emergency in white gold with built in EPIRB. After all, you can't put a price on safety.

Got their catalogue this morning. Ive got their tide watch which is ok for keeping a check on the state of tide. The tidal indicators are a little small and can be difficult to see unless you have eye sight like a sparrow hawk!..Their new tide watch for £24.95,(Casio sailing watch code b350038), looks good considering it has a tide graph. I dont like the naff blue colour though.

I've had my current TAG since 1994 and it's bombproof. Only problems have been the bezel has frozen twice through lack of use, other than that, just batteries. It's worn all the time, is good for 200 mtrs(more than i'll ever see) and has spent years on my wrist whilst banging up steel pipe with 10lb sledge hammer. Loses 2 secs per month without fail. Possibly the best thing I've ever spent dosh on.
