On the River Ouse this morning.
About 9am, following a 24 foot Norman cruiser upriver, about 100 yards astern. A late 80s / early 90s forty-ish foot Princess / Fairline flybridge following us at about 100 yards astern.
Proceeding up river against current at 6 knots, so about 3 foot (Length not height) of rolling wake evident before it smoothed itself out.
We came to some moored boats and Norman cut speed to about 4 knots, as did I and flybridge maintained his distance too.
No boats getting tossed about on the moorings and happy waves from the peeps eating their breakfast in the cockpits.
Came to some rowers going downstream, all cut speed to idle till they got past (no acknowledgment from the miserable gits) before speeding up again.
So if you own a Norman 24 with a cream coloured canopy, or a largish flybridge and were on the Yorkshire Ouse downstream of York Motoryacht club at 9:30 am, please take a bow.
Nice to report good seamanship for a change.
