We spent a bit of time up on that top road watching aerial traffic.

Whilst we were in St Maarten, one of the commuter flights crashed with very sad loss of life. A French TV station sent a film crew up from Guadaloupe to make a news report. Um, it crashed, fortunately without injuries, just to pilots ego.

No prizes which view this is and where we are now.

That never used to be there ! The witches wotsit is unchanged though. After a week of rum n sun there I got a job as 3rd hand on a Dutch sailing freighter running down to supply the supermarkets of Montserrat - that’s how long ago! Was an amazing experience but St Bart’s was more Jimmy Buffet and music than fashionistas and helicopters then!

Edit : I would add that though an exceptional experience to sail cargo down the islands ( and get paid too) it was a pretty sketchy experience and one successful and safe round trip was enough for this sailor.

So we spent 2 hours trying to find these creatures. Managed to see 5 in total. Told my wife I could have found five in 5 minutes on the liveaboard forum.

This morning was spent in Bormes-les-Mimosa
It’s an interesting place…you have the beaches and port…and about a mile or three inland you have the village. And it’s a very special place…perched on a hill with spectacular views, it’s perfectly preserved beautiful medieval village that is very popular with tourists
