My son is going to the USA, what should he bring back?

I was over there on a business trip recently and didn't see anything that grabbed my attention except:

Fuel;
Shotgun - style flare cartridges;
36' ketches.

So: assuming he, like me is constrained by airline luggage regulations then: no.

Zip-lock plastic bags. Lots of them. The real ones, not the rubbish imitations you can buy in the UK. Myriad uses on board and ashore!

Davis mk 15 sextant. Shame the dollar is so high but even so you they're cheaper in dollars than they are in pounds. Bought mine over there in 2008 when it was nearly $2 to the £. Price difference seems proportionally more on the plastic davis sextants than more expensive stuff like the astra.

What do you think it will cost you, I've just brought a Sewill sextant, from Ebay under £100, there is also a Davis 25 in there some where, accurate to about 2 miles may be a little less.

Is there anything boaty that is a lot cheaper over there and worth buying? Or anything that you can get there that you can't get here? Any suggestions?
My brother lives in the US, and when he visits I get him to bring me over some 3M 5200, both regular and fast cure. Not just because it's cheaper, but because they do it in small (1oz), squeezy tubes that you can't seem to get here.

Handheld VHF or Panel mounted - roughly $ for £ and are configurable to international channel map.
I just bought one for $89 ($99.99 listed but $10 discount if you buy over $100 so I topped the order with something that was a few cents). It has a mail in $20 rebate as well (which they won't send out of the US but I'm getting it sent to an American friend who can buy me a drink next time I see him).
So - effectively I paid $69 (£46) for something that in the UK is £100.
Only downside is I need to buy a UK 12v transformer to power the charger cradle

Tell me about configuring the channels to European ones. I ruled out a VHF as I knew they were on different channels but a new one would be nice.
