Been examning them as best I can before launch in 2 weeks time. The boat is Bowman built and the ball valve seacocks are the original ones installed 16 years ago. There is no sign of the metal being pink and only one is a bit grotty on the outside - the one in the khazi cupboard where there has been an internal leak of cleaning fluids.

However, there are no markings on them other than "Italy" and the size.

Would DZR have been marked as such that long ago. And if they havent failed yet and show no signs of doing so, is that not an indication that they arent copper plumbing fittings?

When Chausey was out of the water this year I took the pipes off the two ball type valves I have. I took the handles off so I could turn them through 360 degrees and inspect the balls. As there was no pitting and the bodies looked fine I just put them back together and launched the boat.
Even DZR are not that expensive, if your worried then why not change them and worry about them in another 16years?
