Two years ago I had to replace the lower (drum) bearing on my Rotostay Furler. It decided to fail in 25 knots of wind with my 155 genny on the unit.
As long as you're refurbishing the unit, you might want to replace the bearing as it's an inexpensive part.
It's satisfying to see the diagram of the unit on my website is helpful.
